MISSION STATEMENT

 

Founded by comic book writer Kurt Amacker, Dark Notes Press is an independent press located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Initially started as a platform for Amacker’s own work, DNP is expanding to include works by new and established creators—especially with ties to music and the multifaceted dark alternative culture. All creations—all mediums—are interconnected. There is darkness in the space between words and images, and between images and sound. Dark Notes Press will explore what lies there—fearlessly, and with the goal of creating something greater. From comics inspired by music and alternative culture, to writings by rock stars, the publisher will bridge the gap between mediums in a manner previously unseen.
